Medical Disclaimer
Please read this before acting on anything here
We want our website to be useful, honest and easy to trust. Everything you read on the PhysioFlexx Falkirk website is general information. It is not personal medical advice, and it cannot replace an individual assessment, diagnosis or treatment plan from a qualified clinician who has examined you.
No two assessments are the same, because no two people are the same. The same symptom can have very different causes from one person to the next, so guidance written for a general audience may not be right for your situation.
When you need urgent help
Some symptoms need same-day attention rather than a physiotherapy appointment. Please seek urgent care straight away if you notice any of the following:
- Chest pain, tightness or pressure, or sudden breathlessness
- Numbness or tingling around your back passage or genitals, or new loss of bladder or bowel control
- Sudden weakness, numbness or pins and needles in both legs or both arms
- A severe headache that comes on suddenly, or a head injury with confusion, vomiting or drowsiness
- Signs of a stroke: face drooping, arm weakness, or slurred speech
- A limb that is hot, very swollen or discoloured, or a wound that looks infected
- Severe pain after a fall or accident, or a bone you think may be broken
For warning signs like these, contact your GP urgently, call NHS 111, or in an emergency call 999 or go to your nearest A&E. If you are ever unsure how serious something is, treat it as urgent and get it checked.
Talk to a qualified clinician first
Before you act on anything you read here, including any exercise, stretch or self-care suggestion, please check with a suitably qualified healthcare professional who knows your history. This matters in particular if you are pregnant, recovering from surgery, managing a long-term condition, or taking medication that affects how you should exercise. If a movement causes sharp or worsening pain, stop and get advice.
Reading this site does not make you our patient
Browsing these pages, downloading information or sending us a general enquiry does not create a therapist-patient relationship between you and PhysioFlexx Falkirk. That relationship begins when you book an assessment and one of our physiotherapists has met you, taken your history and examined you in person.
Keeping our information accurate
We review this site to keep it accurate and in line with current practice. Our physiotherapists are Chartered and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). Even so, knowledge moves on and pages may not always be fully up to date. If something here seems to conflict with advice from a clinician who has assessed you, please follow your clinician.
